FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: If we book a tour with you, do we start at a particular time?

A: If you choose to book a private tour, with only members of your group taking part, we will work with you to run the tour at a time that suits you.

Q: How do we pay for our tour?

A: If you are looking for a private tour, the best thing to do is to email Glenn at glenn@acadiafun.com; we will work out the details with you and get your credit card information at that time.

Q: Can we stop for photos whenever we wish?

A: Absolutely!  Whenever you give the word, your guide will pull over and provide time to take photos or simply gaze at the spectacular views.  In addition, we have several overlooks where we routinely stop for photos and exploration.

Q: Why take a private tour?

A: Our private services are designed for those who want a quieter and more personal experience-- touring alone or with a few friends—and the flexibility such an outing provides.  Of course, a tour is only as good as the guide and that’s where we excel.  Our Bar Harbor-based guides are friendly, humorous, personable, and filled with knowledge about Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. We're always happy to explain our tours and work out the best adventure for you; all you have to do is reach out to glenn@acadiafun.com and he’ll give you a call to explain how everything works.

Q: When does your tour season start and end?

A: We begin running tours in mid-May and go straight through the third week of October.

Q: What’s included in the price?

A: Your park admission fee, reservation fee (if you’re going to Cadillac Mountain), guide service and use of our spiffy executive coaches or mid-sized coaches are all covered.  A gratuity for your guide is not included and is at your discretion.

Q: Where do you meet for the tours?

Our tours depart from the parking lot of our sister company, Acadia Outfitters, at 106 Cottage Street.  If you’re booking a private tour and your group is staying at a Bar Harbor area hotel, we can pick you up there and drop you off there after the trip.
